LimaEasy's Editors Corner

We really don't like the word "Blog" but we have to admit that the Editors Corner is the LimaEasy Blog. Things change, new content gets published, an article doesn't seem to fit into any of our categories or we as the editors of LimaEasy would like to air our opinions (and you are welcome to comment on them) - This is the place you'll find all that...

Finally ... we made it! The new LimaEasy is online.

First of all we have to apologize to all of you for waiting on the promised new version of LimaEasy so long. When we started the LimaEasy project a few years back it was supposed to be a small, little guide with some good info on Peru's capital.

We wanted to share our sometimes hard to understand passion for Lima, our experiences and knowledge with other expats and tourists. The massive growth and huge response of LimaEasy exceeded our wildest dreams. We ourselves never ever expected that there is so much to tell about Lima and that there are so many people out there being interested. The more LimaEasy developed, the more we had to live up to the standard we created ourselves. These unexpected challenges soon brought us to our limits, financially, technically and time-wise.

Why only a Beta Version?

As LimaEasy is no big company (we are just a couple of people, who are creating, designing, programming, researching, writing and managing LimaEasy in our free time and out of our own pocket), we decided to at least technically start LimaEasy from scratch. For the last year invisible for anyone we were busy transferring all the information on LimaEasy to a new platform. These changes will make it much easier for us to keep LimaEasy up to date and quickly add new content to the site. To respect many of our visitors comments we tried to design a webpage that on the one hand is still LimaEasy, but on the other hand is more modern, user friendlier, easier to navigate and with some nice additional features usual for a 21th century website. Besides that we added lots of new information. All this took so much longer than we ever expected.

As Lima is changing so quickly lots of content on our "old" LimaEasy needed urgent updates, but it was impossible to finish the new version and at the same time maintain the previous one.

There are still some "construction areas" on LimaEasy, but we had to share the product of our hard work with you. We will continue to finish of some parts that might not work 100% right away, so please apologize for some little "bugs" here and there.

Is this all?

Is LimaEasy finished? Surely not! The more we wander around town, read e-mails from our visitors and work on LimaEasy the more ideas we have to improve our page. In our virtual drawer there are already some new sections waiting for you. So we are continuing with our work making LimaEasy "the" Lima Guide.

While there are lots of changes on LimaEasy, we assure you that our principles stay the same. On LimaEasy you won't find flashing ads or annoying pop-ups you have to click on to read the content. And we surely don't want to sell you anything. Our main goal was and is to inform.

For any suggestion, recommendation, criticism, comments or even if something doesn't work (what might happen with a completely new technology), please get in touch with us via our contact form. And if you enjoyed LimaEasy, we appreciate a "Like" on Facebook and we even more appreciate any donation - even when it is a small amount – that helps us to keep this site running, up to date, further improve it and continue adding new information.
